- Take a Walk Through the Elfin Forest
Meet us at the north end of 15th Street off Santa Ysabel in Los
Osos at 9:30 a.m. on the third Saturday of the month to take a guided walk
through the Elfin Forest. Each month's walk focuses on a different aspect
of the Elfin Forest. Topics are announced in local papers.
- Ask For Our Slide Show
We can prepare a slide show on the Elfin Forest to meet the time
available and interest level of your class, group or organization.
- Take a Look at Our Mural
Thanks to funding from the National Wildlife Federation, local
artist Barbara Rosenthal created a mural of the Elfin Forest on the east
wall of the Los Osos Rexall Drug Store on Los Osos Valley Road. The names
of all those who made it possible to preserve this special small
wilderness for you and for generations to come are listed on the mural.
- Help Wanted!
SWAP's First Saturday work parties are held at 9 a.m. to noon on
the first Saturday of each month. "Weed Warriors" meet at the north end of
15th Street. Dress for sun and wind and bring work gloves if you can. Some
work gloves, tools and drinking water are provided. Call 805-528-0392.
- Also if you can give a couple of hours to help our walk
leaders, staff our information booth, be a SWAP historian, or help with
membership or volunteer coordination, please leave a message at the above
phone number.
